Kems Kriol Is a sound artist, audio engineer and producer of electroacoustic electronic music. Besides being a producer , he curates and presents radio program “The Early Current”, on Operator Radio, where he emphasizes electroacoustic, neoclassical, ambient and experimental music and highlights the composers of these pieces. He primarily works with homemade field recordings, a hybrid of electronic and relevant instrumentation and archival sounds that are available to him. Inspiration from his surroundings (the city and nature that has shaped the Rijnmond region for years), his travels abroad and “home” (he is of Cape Verdean and Colombian descent), and his emphasis on a psycho-developmental approach to sound, have let him to develop his own distinctive sound over the past few years.
