Vindya is an interdisciplinary artist who in her electronic music performs dark, driven and soulful techno. The contemporary music she composes under her birth name, Vinthya Perinpanathan, is based on ethnographic research into the ancient ritual and ceremonial music of her Tamil-Sinhalese heritage. With unity and transcendence of borders as overarching themes within all her music, Vindya draws on parallels between them – repetition, percussion and tension. Her musical craft has led her to play on iconic dancefloors such as FOLD, Tresor and Radion while her enthusiasm for experimentation continues to connect her with a variety of musicians in her home country, Sri Lanka.
